Pasture Raised Christmas Leg Ham
The sharing of a Near River pasture raised leg ham with family and friends at Christmas has become a tradition for many of our regular customers.
These hams have a flavour that you may not have tasted in some time. Our animals graze and root outdoors, and have a slower growth rate that creates extra tender meat and healthy fat. We use no antibiotics nor growth stimulants, no farrowing crates or sow stalls, and never dock tails, allowing our pigs to be happy free ranging pigs. In addition to what they forage from our fields, our animals are fed a daily ration of grain, a healthy mix of vegetable offcuts, spent brewers grain from the local craft brewer, and milk waste from the local cheese factory. Cured by our local butcher in Lighthouse Beach, these pasture-raised hams come as halves or full legs with the bone in.
You will find our hams flavoursome, somewhat sweet and succulent.
Priced at $30.00 per kilo, the final price will be based on the actual weight of ham delivered
Your deposit of $50.00 for a half leg (approx 3 – 4 kilos) or $100 for a full leg (approx 7 – 8 kilos) will secure your ham.
Delivery or pick up from our markets from December 15th 2018.
